Manly Warringah Pipe Band are a very active traditional Scottish Pipe Band. The 30+ members of the band consist of bagpipers, drummers, and highland dancers. Based in the beautiful Northern Beaches of Sydney, Manly Warringah Pipe Band welcome new members to the band, be they beginners or experienced players. Tuition is available for the pipes and drums; Highland dancing is also taught. We are open to anyone of any age with current learners and members ranging in age from 9 to over 60. The band tartan is the Military Gordon (as worn by the Gordon Highlanders); the rest of the uniform depending on the occasion.

History of the Band

Manly Warringah Pipe Band has been playing for 70 years (we were founded in 1949), going from strength to strength, fuelled by the enjoyment of playing amongst a friendly, social group of people with a common passion. The last few years have been particularly exciting as the band participated in the Massed Pipes and Drums at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Scotland in 2012, 2015, and 2018, in Sydney in 2010 and Melbourne in 2016, at the Basel Tattoo in 2017, and we have been invited to perform again in Basel in 2020. Our pipers and drummers are dedicated players who live and breathe their music. We have a wide breadth to our repertoire and can provide guidance and suggestions in the choice of music for any event.
